Our Story

They say the best innovations start with people 'scratching their own itch'.

The Dropbox founder was tired of emailing files to himself, Cisco's founders needed to get computers to talk to each other, and Jack O’Neill? He just wanted to surf those perfect winter waves... and invented the wetsuit.

Here is how Wolfgang 'Wolfi' Leeb invented the stand-up paddle suit on his way to win his first SUP pro race.

How it all started

Lisbon - our new base

Since summer 2017 Lisbon, Portugal, is the new base of SUPSKIN. Lisbon is not only Europe's surf capital and new start-up epicenter, but Portugal is also home to the leading technical textile industry.

The  beautiful coast line from Porto to the Algarve has become our new playground. Great paddle, downwind, and SUP surf territory.

We are a diverse bunch, sharing the passion for paddling and our commitment to developing the leading technical wear for our sport.

Known as Mr. Supskin for a reason. Wolfi wanted suitable paddle wear and took it in his own hands. He leads R&D, is in charge of problem-solving, sales, events and winning the occasional race.

Brigitte is the tailoring mastermind and manages production, admin, customer care and pretty much everything else.

Chris, a deserted investment banker, joined SUPSKIN in 2017, paving the way to Portugal, in charge of corporate finance, business affairs and e-commerce.
